Our History With Nature. One might say nature is trees, soil, and air, but nature goes deeper than that. Cells make up an organism and organisms makes systems. Those systems are part of nature as well, but we interact with these systems every day. Plants and animals affect humans. If a plant like poison ivy was to interact with a human. Most people can guess what will happen. We as humans know that poison ivy is a plant that humans rarely don’t react to in a negative way. That interaction is consider nature. The chemical in the plant is produced by that plant as a natural defense for the plant and that is part of nature. The other part of nature actions is forces that are caused by disturbance in two elements. Humans have given the actions of nature a name of, “Mother nature” these forces include: hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquake, tsunami, and typhoons. As horrific as these forces may be, they are part of nature. So, going back to the question can nature be an action. Yes, ones action with nature can be consider nature, or the action nature forces upon others.
Is nature something we cannot see? When a person thinks about nature generally, a person thinks about the physical and visible nature, but nature goes further than what the human eye can see. Before humans figured out there were things that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Unseen nature has a huge contribute in nature. Gravity has a majestic role in nature. Like many things humans take for granted gravity should be one of the unseen nature that humans appreciate. Another, unseen nature is air (O2 and CO2) even though we know what its made of we can not see it. Air is the one element that gives humans life. So for something that is crucial for human existent. One would think humans would respect nature (Air), but yet humans defile it daily. Nature is also things we can not see with the human eye. After the invention of magnifying glasses things could be seen that once was invisible. Humans had no clue of the organism and systems that lived among them that they could not see. After the discovery of the life that the human eye could not see. Humans advanced in medicine, food, and life. Discovering the nature that was invisible to the eye. Giving humans a better perception of what is this thing we call nature. Humans still do not have a definite understanding of what is nature. -Chris Woods |
